| Check List:
Step Two!
Verify
that your reciepts are properly truncated.
The Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act of 2003 (FACTA)
sets a national standard requiring truncation of credit card
information.
FACTA states the following:
- Credit and debit card receipts cannot include more than the last five digits of the card number
- The card's expiration date cannot be printed or displayed on your receipts

Important: These standards apply to both
the customer copy and the merchant copy of the receipt!
You have indicated that you use a Cash Register System to
process you credit/debit card transactions. Depending on your
vendor, you may already be FACTA compliant.
However, if either your merchant copy or customer copy receipts
print the entire credit card number and/or expiration date,
you should contact your vendor to make the necessary updates
to your software program.
